A new method for design of digital IIR filters for input signal second-order derivative estimation is described in this paper. Proposed filters have parallel structure utilizing allpass IIR filters in both branches. Due to the specific configuration, only odd-order real filters can be obtained. Obtained differentiators demand minimum number of multipliers, compared to other approaches, since allpass filters of order N can be realized with only N multipliers. The proposed procedure can be generalized for design of partial differentiators.
